Grapes you have not met yet.
Vranec, Temjanika, Smederevka. Names that mean nothing in London and everything where they come from. Every page tells you what it tastes like and what to eat with it, so you can order one without knowing the word.
Straight from the winery.
Most wine from this part of Europe reaches a UK shelf through an importer, then a distributor, then a retailer. Ours does not. We buy it at the winery and we ship it here. That is the whole chain.
Medals belong to vintages, not labels.
A wine wins a medal in one year, in one competition, for one vintage. We name which. When the bottle we are selling does not carry the award, we say so on the page.
Two Masters of Wine, in their own words
"One of my absolute favourites is Barovo red, an old-vine, field blend of Kratošija and Vranec from around 700 metres altitude. And the wine is stunning too, full-bodied and bold but also elegant."
"Some wines impress with sheer power, others with elegance. The rare ones manage both, and that's exactly what I found with Babuna Red."
Every bottle checked by hand.
Every case is opened and read before it ships. Vintage on the label, condition of the bottle, the lot. One person does it and he does it by hand.
Not sure where to start?
A small set built to be a first order. Enough to find out what you like without guessing at a single bottle.

Wine worth knowing.
Macedonian and Rhône wines, delivered across the UK. We tell you which vintage won which medal, and when it didn't.
